My name is Chris and I am mainly a PC user which means I have been using Microsoft Windows as my operating system ever since version 3.11. Of course, being from that generation, I compare myself to others and realize that I cannot consider myself tech savvy especially when it comes to maintaining my computer’s health. I do question at times why so many problems with computers arise and as a friend of mine told me a long time ago, “If your computer has Internet, it isn’t safe.”
I agree with him. And like many others, I use the Internet to find the solution to my problem. I recently purchased my current computer about 6 months back and am using Windows 7 64-bit but in that short time-span it seems to have slowed down significantly. From starting up the pc to the simple usage of Mozilla Firefox it just seemed to be running slower than when I first purchased it. Like many individuals I use AVG and Avast to keep out viruses and spyware but even with constant scanning, nothing can be found.
I found out later on, through hours of research, that with every program installation, certain files in my registry are changed. Possibly not changed, just added to the registry. However, upon un-installation of the program, the files are not reverted back to its original. And because the modified files aren’t malicious, they don’t get detected by an anti-virus or anti-spyware. Or at least that’s my understanding of it.
Xionix has realized this and from what I can tell has been around since 2007 and have from then till now created software to fully repair the situation. Like some of my previous posts, I mentioned that they look to fix that problem by reverting modified files to its original state and even arrange (or index I’m uncertain of the terminology) it in a way which allows the computer to locate them quicker, which consequently optimizes the speed of your computer. I am a casual gamer as well where there’s time, and I’ve always believed in playing games on my computer and not on a console as the familiarity of using a keyboard and mouse is just too difficult a habit to break. However, as with playing games, installing and un-installing of programs eventually cause the problems that I’ve mentioned above.
Not to be negative about it, as before this, whenever I felt that my computer was slowing down beyond the usual, I would do a simple backup and reformat of my computer and reinstall my operating system. With Xionix, I’ve never had to handle that problem in such a roundabout manner and have realized that it was so convenient from what I was used to doing before!
If you’re serious about maintaining your computer and are as obsessive about keeping it running at optimum performance, then I can honestly say that their products are made specifically to cater you.
